'Her' - Minnie Analysis ⭐⭐⭐⭐

What better way to start a new blog than with an analysis on one of the songs absolutely ringing in my head right now?

With a funky baseline and catchy beat, 'Her' is absolutely a song that is set to get stuck in your head for days at a time! Not to mention the unique tones of Minnie's voice supplementing the steady rhythm, and I was enchanted from the very first listen.

While the composition itself is remarkably simple - almost reminiscent of Billie Eilish's bad guy with the simple baseline and striking synths - the vocals add some complexity and melody to the rhythm that is simply addictive to the ear. Even without the song I find my head still nodding along to the beat, mouthing the words 'I'm Her' directly on cue and making the people on the bus wonder if I've lost my mind (sorry).

Of course, as one might guess by the English lyrics in the chorus, this song is a self-confidence track, designed to make every listener walk tall to the beat. The lyrics, of course, reflect this intent - the first two lines of the chorus alone illustrate this sentiment almost perfectly, with a 'what are you going to do about it' kind of vibe.

You think you know me? I'm her

Who shot ya? With the tied-up hair? Well, I'm her

Yes Minnie, you certainly are Her and Her has become a welcome addition to my playlist! If you like a heavy bass line and Minnie's vocal tone, I should imagine you would like this track!
